Grantmaking
Philanthropic Community Foundation seeks to establish long-term partnerships with visionary organizations in Uganda. Our team uses our visionary criteria to identify new partners, and we use our Active Partnership model to support them while they are in our portfolio. Our goal is to see our grantee partners become stronger, healthier organizations, increase their social impact, and be in a position to sustain their efforts long after PCF support ceases.

How We Find Partners

Philanthropic Community Foundation employs a community-driven, participatory grantmaking approach that engages local references and experts in sourcing and screening partners. We are highly networked in the communities related to civil society and social entrepreneurs. Our sources include:
- Current partners or luminary partners with a high degree of trust
- Local NGO consortiums and community platforms
- Reputable fellowship/peer networks
- Well-established civil society and NGO contacts
- Peer funders and their incubator programs
- Embassy contacts/ambassadors administering small-scale grantmaking initiatives
TOOLS

INDICATOR TOOL
SDGs
Indicators are frequently used in social development to measure evidence of change. They constitute a key component of most monitoring and evaluation systems, but identifying the best set of indicators to use for a specific project can often be a daunting task—particularly for organizations who are just starting out on their M&E journeys.
We’ve compiled this tool to help make that process a little easier. While by no means exhaustive, the indicators in this database are drawn from a wide range of sources and have relevance across a variety of intervention models and the full spectrum of SDG sectors.

INDICATOR TOOL
FUNDER DIRECTORY
Fundraising always begins with knowing who the funders are. This directory contains links to corporations, foundations, governments, impact investors, intermediaries, and x-laterals in our database who are funding in Sub-Saharan Africa. You can use this list to identify donors funding in your geographic area or sector.
We can’t guarantee that this information is complete or fully up-to-date, although we’re working on that. Consider this information a starting point for your own research.
