  1. INTRODUCTION

Philanthropic Community Foundation (PCF) is, an organization established in 2020 by a group of philanthropists and well-wishing Ugandans, with a mission to uplift and empower communities through philanthropy and is dedicated to fostering collaboration among charity organizations and promoting philanthropic activities. 

PROJECT: UBUNTU RAISING- Uganda Charity Week & Festival

The Uganda Charity Week & Festival concept is rooted in the philanthropic Community Foundation. The project aims to create a vibrant and interactive platform for charities, encouraging a culture of giving and community engagement for a better, healthy and vibrant society.

The project will be a week-long event that brings together a diverse group of stakeholders including Civil Society Organizations, Corporate Sector, Government Agencies and the general community. 

The event will feature a variety of activities including skilling workshops, mentorship programs, counselling programs, interactive sessions/networking and showcasing of arts, crafts and talent aimed at promoting the well-being of our local communities.

The event will be used as a mobilization tool for fundraising towards our annual block charity causes and projects. It will also serve as a promotions and advertising tool, showcasing the work of our sponsors, Partners and vulnerable skilled community members who will showcase their art, crafts, industrial, creative products and talents.

TAGLINE: “Everyone is a Philanthropist”

The event will adopt the tagline “Everyone is a Philanthropist.” This approach will give community members the opportunity to partake in leadership roles and motivate giving/contribute towards charity within their communities.

OBJECTIVES of the UCWF

The primary objectives of the Uganda Charity Week & Festival are to:

1. Promote and Support Philanthropy in Uganda: Encourage and support the spirit of giving towards activities / projects that create helpful, lasting and positive impacts in our communities and country at large.

2.    Provide an interactive Platform and Collaboration for a common cause: Facilitate connections among charity organizations and well-wishers as a think tank for solving real-time issues within our communities.

3.    Programs: Introduce and promote various initiatives.

4.    Trading and Marketing of local(resident) items and works: This will involve showcasing various skills, works, talents, art and crafts from our communities with the aim of creating a lasting market for them.

IMPACT OF THE UCWF

The Uganda Charity Week & Festival aims to create a lasting impact on the community by:

  1. Creating an education and entertainment Avenue using games, sports, dance and drama to educate, inspire and engage the community towards purposeful working and helping each other.
  2. Uniting Civil Society Organizations, Corporate Entities, and community members at large to work towards accomplishing identified annual charity causes and various community development projects.
  3. Promoting and advertising / marketing works, skills and talents of the communities helped under various charity organizations and encouraging community participation.
  4. Therapy i.e. providing dance, drama, poetry therapy to promote mental and physical well-being of our communities.
  5. Fundraising to support various charity initiatives and projects.
  6. Enhancing the visibility and creating awareness of the impact made by various Charities within our communities.

COLLECTIVE BENEFITS.

The Uganda Charity Week & Festival will bring together diverse stakeholders, fostering dialogue and collaboration for the common good of our communities. The event will create lasting benefits, including strengthened relationships, increased awareness, and collective action for positive change within our communities.
